Si osserva una bella fanciulla, incoronata, con abbondanti capelli che le scendono lungo le spalle. Ha il viso grazioso e gli occhi enigmatici, misteriosi, arcani, che hanno il potere di incantare chi li osserva. La parte superiore è nuda; la coda è biforcuta.

In alto si legge la scritta “Celi Amore” e in direzione della testa della sirena si osservano tre stelle.

Che significa? Semplicemente uno dei tanti modi di chiamare Cellamare? O La sirena è amore del cielo? E se quell'”Amore” non fosse in italiano ma in latino e quindi l’espressione potrebbe significare: “Per Amore del Cielo”?. Ed in questo caso cosa significherebbe?

Diverse sono dunque le interpretazioni che si possono dare, senza però poter dire con esattezza quale sia quella vera. Così come potrebbe essere un’altra la spiegazione vera, diversa da quelle fin qui addotte.

Se observa una chica bonita, coronada, con el pelo grueso que baja por las espaldas. Tiene la cara graciosa y los ojos enigmáticos, misteriosos, esotéricos que tienen el poder de encantar los que los observan. La parte superior está desnuda; la cola es bifurcada. Arriba se lee la inscripción “Celi Amore” y en dirección de la cabeza se observan tres estrellas.  

¿Que significa? ¿Es simplemente una de las muchas maneras de llamar Cellamare? ¿O la sirena es amor del cielo? ¿Y si ese amor no fuese en italiano sino en latín entonces la expresión podría significar “Per amor del cielo” – por el amor del cielo -? Y en este caso ¿qué significaría eso?

Entonces son varias las interpretaciones que se pueden dar, pero sin poder decir con precisión cuál es la verdad. Así como podría ser otra explicación la verdadera, diferente de las anteriores.

You can see a nice young lady, crowned, with a lot of hair falling down her shoulders. She has a pretty face and enigmatic, mysterious, cryptic eyes which have the power to enchant whoever watches them. The higher part is naked, the tail is forked.

On the top you can read the inscription “Celi Amore” and in the direction of her head you can see three stars.

What does it mean? Is this simply one of the many ways to name Cellamare? Or is the mermaid love of the heaven? And what if “Amore” (love) is not in Italian but in Latin and therefore could the expression mean “Per Amore del Cielo” (For heaven’s sake)?

What would in this case mean?

Well, there are several interpretations that could be given, but it is not possible to say exactly which is the right one. Just like could be another the right explanation, different from the previous ones.
